Melbi Institute was established in 2014 in response to the increased need for professionals to demonstrate the impact of community projects/programs.

Dr Samuel M. Muchoki, B.A, M.A (PhD, La Trobe) coordinates the training program. He has a background in anthropology, community development and community health. He has over 15 years experience in monitoring and evaluation, project management, social research and policy development. He has worked for not-for-profit organisations, government agencies and in academia. He has previously taught at Monash University, La Trobe University, Victoria University and Swinburne university.
